Good Buddies Radio

Students in 8th Period work on writing their Good Buddies Radio Show script.

The students have been studying about symbiotic relationships for the last two weeks, which includes mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism. Last week the students were asked to develop a podcast for the Good Buddies Radio Network. The students worked collaboratively in groups of three, pulled a symbiotic relationship out of the basket, and then decided on an example to investigate. Students conducted the research using the Blackboard software and new Netbooks that were purchased through the ARRA Technology Grant that the seventh grade teachers are involved with.


Each student researched on his/her own Netbook. Then the teams worked together to write a radio script that was creative, fun, and educational. The students were to educate their listener about whichever symbiotic relationship they had pulled from the hat in a creative way.  Listen to the student podcasts here.

The students did a great job with creating their first podcast and really were able to integrate their research on symbiotic relationships creatively!
