Abiotic/Biotic Rap

This week we talked about living (biotic) and non-living (abiotic) factors in an organism's habitat.  Students listened to this Abiotic/Biotic Rap to help remember what we learned in class with our guided notes.  If students were absent or want to listen to the lesson again, please click on the Online Lessons link under Quick Links.  There will then be a link to all the available Online Lessons. 

We also took a pre-assessment this week to see what each student's starting point was when learning about living things and studying populations.  Students charted their individual scores and set goals for what percentage they would like to achieve by the final test (next Friday 10/12).  I believe the students will be more successful when they take ownership in their learning process.  They should all be aware of where they are starting out, how they are progressing, and how much improvement was made.  Students also made an action plan of how they can improve their scores.  I am excited to see how many students achieve their goals next week!
